The ex-owner of an important stable for race horses has suffered a serious financial blow and now lives modestly with his two daughters. At a horse auction one day, his eldest daughter sees a beautiful mare which she begs her father to buy with his remaining cash. She is so insistent that the kind man succumbs to her wish. After some time, the mare gives birth to a thoroughbred colt which becomes the inseparable companion of his younger daughter. The colt is full of potential and brings new hope to the man; he lovingly dedicates his time to the breeding and training of the splendid animal. Soon, the horse makes a name for itself and is favourite in the imminent Grand Prix but, due to a cunning businessman, the breeder is almost forced to sell the animal on the eve of the race. But at the last moment a young friend of the family steps in to save the day.
