Description

French revolution 1792: young laundress Catherine, protesting for the presence of rebels in her house, falls in love with their leader Francois. After their marriage they move to Italy, where their braveness against Austrian troops earns them Napoleon's compliments. After he has become Emperor, Bonapart favors Francois' career... all the way up to Governor!! Problems start when Catherine shows to be not sufficiently educated for court life... But in an argument with Napoleon she has the best! Francois gives up the throne to live by her side
