Description

The duke Ubaldo, tyrant of Roccamontana, plots against Alfonso d'Este, in order to become owner of the latter's territories and thus hand them over to Spain. He has count Maurizio d'Archidosso, faithful to d'Este, murdered and then asks the Count's daughter, Laura in marriage. Riccardo degli Argenti, in love with Laura, opposes this marriage. Counting on the peolple's friendship, he manages to break into Roccamontana's castle and after having freed Laura, kills the evil Duke in a duel
