Description

Alberto Sordi, a poor school teacher, adopts Gigetto, who has been abandoned by his relatives after his father's imprisonment. Gigetto, gifted with a great baritone voice, is helped by Sordi to enter the competitive world of the Opera. Torn between Alberto, the Opera manager, and the relatives, now interested in his money, Gigetto runs away the day before his debut... A bad sore throat will irreparably affect his voice: unpopular once again, Gigetto is saved from a new abandon by the good Alberto, to whom he was truly attached.
