The film tells the story of the brief uncovering of five first world war fighters, buried by an avalanche and preserved in a glacier. It gives a brief insight into their difficult lives, showing how each found solace in the memory of a lovedone or the hope for a better future. When their bodies are again buried by another avalanche, the living are there this time to pay their respects to them.
