Description

At a press conference in a big hotel in Rome a young star, Nina, is anxiously awaited. Nina had not set out to be a star, but had come to Rome and found a job as a maid in a hotel. It was there that she met the old countess Sanziani who was to completely change the course of her life. In her utter loneliness, forgotten by all her friends, the countess tells Nina the story of her whole life. She will never know what a profound impact she has had on Nina as a few days later she is run over by a taxi and dies. Nina, though, following the lesson she has been taught acquires a new personality and boldness and becomes a great film star
