Lucia, a lovely, young Neapolitan, meets a most attractive Italian-American singer who is enjoying a holiday in Naples. (A perfect premise for romance served to the writer on a silver plate - as the saying goes). Indeed, it would be gilding the lily to elaborate on a story with such a surefire head-start, but writers, like gourmands, do overdo it. For example, the aforementioned attributes of charm, good looks and talent take their toll as the pendulum of fate swings to the other extreme. By the time Johnny has returned to America and started flirting with a new girl - physically not unlike Lucia, he is informed that Lucia has given birth to a child - his child! - We presume, possessing Johnny's attractive features and winning ways, but of no comfort to him now. Unfortunately, the writer of this romantic saga has, to date, not furnished further details. It will be most interesting to see how the magic of light projected through celluloid works this story out
