Mr. Antonio Berlingheri, on his way to visit his son at college, meets a group of teen-agers heading for the beach. They tease him at first, but finally invite him to their pic-nic. Forgetting his age for a couple of hours, Antonio falls in love with 16-year-old Francesca... The trip is rapidly over, the group goes back home, and driving towards the college Antonio tastes... the bitterness of those lighthearted years that will never come again!!
