Description

Ancient Greece: officer Faone seeks shelter in Aphrodite's temple and falls in love with the beautiful priestess Saffo. In a conflict with Iperbio, the head of the guards, Faone is arrested but... with a clever and brave expedient manages to escape. After having overturned the cruel tyrant Melancro, our hero gives Iperbio what he deserves in a dramatic and dangerous duel. Welcomed by the people, Faone returns to the Island of Mitilene with Saffo, who had left the religious order of the virgin priestesses to be with the man she loved.
